FIELD: transport engineering; buses and other passenger and passenger and load automobiles for towns.
SUBSTANCE: unit has steam engine with closed circuit accommodating tandem-arranged water tank, feed pump, steam generator, multicylinder piston double-acting steam expander, air cooled condenser, transmission connecting steam expander with automobile driving wheels. Hydraulic transmission with closed hydraulic circuit is used including tank with working liquid, reversible hydraulic motors in number equal to that of automobile driving wheels and double-acting piston pumps in number equal to that of steam expander cylinders. Piston pumps are installed in tandem with cylinders of steam expander. Pistons of steam expander are connected with corresponding pistons of hydraulic transmission pumps by straight-stroke rods.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of transmission of mechanical energy of steam engine to automobile wheels.
